I wanted to create atmospheric signifiers such as mould and wet surfaces in the spaces to create the emotion that the area is not a comfortable living space and what canno tnessicasily be seen is made visible.
I looked at decals and sprites to use on the surface of walls and objects to make these spatial semiotics.
To do this you insert a gameobject - Quad into your scene. Apply the material to the object and make the rendering mode 'fade'.
